HBO hit The Sopranos held relatively steady in its second week, dipping slightly to 9.2 million total viewers Sunday. That's down a tick from the 9.5 million that tuned in to the sixth-season premiere last week.

The stability may be explained in part by the absence of an original episode from its biggest competition, ABC's Desperate Housewives, which averaged more than 22 million at 9 p.m. last week. However, ABC's 10 p.m. hit Grey's Anatomy was an original episode Sunday, which did not help Big Love. The new HBO series sank to 3.4 million, down from 4.6 million the previous week.
