It appears that HD DVD isn't completely out of the water yet.

According to a story from DVDTown.com, which states the latest numbers from the NPD, the HD DVD format has gained some momentum after last week's huge downturn.

We reported last week that Blu-Ray opened up their lead on HD DVD, taking a 93% market share to HD DVD's 7% for stand-alone players. This week, NPD figures show that HD DVD has gained back a sizeable share, taking 34% of the high-def market share and Blu-Ray accounting for 66% in the week ending January 19.
