Walter Hill has officially signed onto direct Sylvester Stallone in Headshot. Here's what Sylvester Stallone recently had to say, indicating that a collaboration with the director has long been in the works.

"It's official. We've got Walter Hill on board so would love for you to let the world know. We've been on the same track since The Driver, then 48 Hours didn't happen so here we are almost 35 years later, I'm finally driving with Walter Hill."

Wayne Kramer had originally been set to direct Headshot, although we reported last week that Kramer left due to creative differences. Sylvester Stallone wanted an iconic action director for Headshot, and it seems he has found one in Walter Hill (The Warriors and 48 Hours).

Headshot centers on the unique relationship formed between a cop and a hitman when they join forces to take out a common nemesis, after he kills both of their partners. Sylvester Stallone will play the hitman. Alessandro Camon wrote the screenplay for Headshot. Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar will produce alongside Kevin King Templeton. Production is gearing up for a summer start.
