Helena Bonham Carter has signed on to the growing cast of Disney's Cinderella, in the pivotal role of the fairy godmother. Take a look at the studio's brief casting announcement.

"Helena Bonham Carter has been cast as the fairy godmother in Disney's upcoming live-action feature Cinderella, directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh. Previously announced casting includes Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Lily James in the title role and Richard Madden as the prince."

Holly Grainger and Sophie McShera recently joined the cast as Cinderella's evil step-sisters. Aline Brosh McKenna (Annie) and Chris Weitz (About a Boy) provided the screenplay, with David Barron and Simon Kinberg producing. It isn't known when production will begin.

Helena Bonham Carter most recently starred in Les Miserables, and will next be seen in Disney's The Lone Ranger.
