Man of Steel star Henry Cavill sports a spiky-haired ‘do as he dances with co-star Dua Lipa in the first look at The Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy flick, Argylle. Cavill himself took to Instagram to share the first look image, with the actor pairing the pic alongside the caption, “Argylle and Lagrange. Seems perfectly peaceful doesn't it.....”

Cavill cuts a very different figure than usual, with the peculiar haircut that adorns his handsome head looking unlike the swooping ‘do that audiences are used to. Instead of the perfectly slick hairstyle shown in the likes of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or the delightfully wavy style that he sports as Sherlock in Enola Holmes, Argylle finds Cavill’s hair oddly standing to attention. By the way, is it possible to talk about Henry Cavill’s hair too much? We get even more o a glimpse at Cavill's new look in a brief snippet of footage shared by Dua Lipa Today...

While it may seem a minor detail, the haircut does offer some clues regarding Cavill’s amnesiac super spy. Due for release on Apple TV+, Argylle finds Cavill and his hedgehog-style hairdo beginning the movie as a world-class spy who suddenly suffers from amnesia and is tricked into believing he is a best-selling spy novelist. After his memories and lethal skills return, he goes down a path of revenge against the shadowy organization he used to work for, the Division.

Henry Cavill is joined in the Argylle image by musician-turned-actor Dua Lipa, who will make her acting debut in Argylle playing the mysterious character, Lagrange. While this first look image seemingly depicts a romantic dance between the couple, Cavill’s caption would suggest that something else is afoot.

Directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn and adapted by Jason Fuchs, Argylle is based on the 2022 novel of the same name by first-time author Ellie Conway. The movie has amassed the kind of A-list cast that dreams are made of, with the likes of Sam Rockwell (Moon), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World: Dominion), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Catherine O'Hara (Schitt's Creek), John Cena (F9, Peacemaker), Samuel L. Jackson (Secret Invasion), Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), and Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2) joining Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa in this tale of espionage and deception.

Argylle does not yet have a release date scheduled, but is intended to serve as the start of a franchise consisting of at least a trilogy of movies with Henry Cavill at the center, with director Matthew Vaughn hoping to craft something akin to the action movies of the 1980s such as Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.

Aside from being a super-spy with amnesia, Henry Cavill has plenty of other major projects already in the pipeline. The actor has already suffered a major hairstyle change as the lead in the Netflix fantasy series, The Witcher, with the actor due to continue his penchant for sword-fighting in the upcoming Highlander reboot. Before that though, the actor will return to the wonderful curls of Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming Netflix sequel, Enola Holmes 2, which stars Millie Bobby Brown as the titular Holmes sibling.
