With Henry Cavill's time as Superman over just as quickly as he recently returned to the role, there seems to be more fan demand than ever for him to make his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For years, fans have campaigned for Cavill to come into that world in one way or another, suggesting certain characters he could play, such as the MCU's Hercules, among others. It's nothing new for some fans to say Cavill should be the next Wolverine, as he's been pictured as the beloved X-Men character in fan art in the past.

Now, stryder HD has released a new deepfake video, digitally inserting Cavill's face over Hugh Jackman's from the X-Men movies. The idea is to showcase what it might look like if Cavill were to have played the character. Of course, this is something we've also seen many times in the past with actors and potential roles they could play, which even includes a similar deepfake with Tom Hardy as Logan.

You can watch the new deepfake video below.

What we know for sure is that Cavill is finished as Superman, and despite what some fans were hoping, his exit from that role doesn't mean he's coming back to The Witcher, which has already recast the role of Geralt with Liam Hemsworth. That has opened up Cavill's schedule to take on new roles, and it wasn't long before he found something else exciting. He has since announced that he will star in a Warhammer 40K series for Prime Video.

But the door remains open for Cavill to take on more superhero roles. It's always possible he could come into the DCU as a character other than Superman, as Jason Momoa is rumored to ditch his Aquaman role in favor of becoming James Gunn's Lobo. But some fans may prefer to see Cavill switch sides by going to the MCU. For what it's worth, Cavill himself has previously addressed the possibility. He named Captain Britain as the superhero he'd most want to play in that world, as he wouldn't want to replace another actor who's already been established as a Marvel character.

"I'm never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else because everyone's doing such an amazing job," he told THR when asked who he'd want to play in the MCU. "However, I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that - like the way they modernized Captain America. There's something fun about that, and I do love being British."
