NBC's Heroes Reborn is bringing back yet another original Heroes cast member, with Greg Grunberg signing on to return as Matt Parkman. The actor joins his Heroes co-stars Jack Coleman (H.R.G.) and Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura). We reported in April that Jimmy Jean-Louis will return as The Hatian, but the actor wasn't included in the official cast list released by NBC at its upfront presentation, so it isn't known if he is still on board. Greg Grunberg will have a guest-starring arc on Heroes Reborn, which we reported earlier this month will air Thursday nights at 8 PM ET starting this fall.

New cast members for Heroes Reborn include Zachary Levi, Judith Shekoni, Robbie Kay, Henry Zebrowski, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Danika Yarosh, Toru Uchikado, Eve Harlow and Gatlin Green. NBC will also launch a digital series before the show premieres this fall, that introduces the new characters and story lines, which will be available on NBC's digital platforms along with Hulu and VOD. The series follows a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers. Epic adventures await these newly empowered allies as they cross paths with some of the original characters, unlocking the mysterious fate of the universe and their place within it.

Original Heroes creator Tim Kring created Heroes Reborn and serves as writer and executive producer with Peter Elkoff and James Middleton. Greg Grunberg recently had arcs on Showtime's Masters of Sex and CBS' Criminal Minds. He also starred in the ABC pilot Warriors that wasn't picked up to series, and he has a mysterious role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in theaters December 18. Here's what the actor himself had to say about the casting news on his Twitter page.
