Molly Smith and her producing partner Hilary Swank have acquired the theatrical rights to Emily Giffin's 2005 debut novel Something Borrowed. According to Variety, Swank is also looking to star in the film.

The plot will revolve around a Manhattan attorney that has an affair with her best friend's fiance soon after her thirtieth birthday. Smith and Swank also plan on producing Something Blue, Giffin's follow-up to her first novel.

The project is currently out to writers. Something Borrowed will most likely go before the camera in late 2009.
