Dwayne Johnson has unveiled the first Hobbs and Shaw teaser while announcing that the trailer will drop this Friday. Johnson had previously revealed that the trailer was going to premiere during the Super Bowl on Sunday, but it appears we're getting it earlier, which is obviously much better for fans who have been waiting. The trailer will follow the recent trend of commercials debuting before the big game while also airing during the game. Johnson and Jason Statham have been hyping the Fast and Furious spin-off for months and we're all ready to finally see some footage.

The Hobbs & Shaw teaser features a garage door opening to reveal Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs preparing for a showdown. It's incredibly brief and doesn't show off any footage from the movie, which is a good thing. It also leads us to believe that there will be more of these teasers on the way, or at least one more bringing back Jason Statham as Shaw. But, we could get more that introduce the new characters, including Idris Elba's villainous Brixton character.

Principal photography wrapped on Hobbs & Shaw last weekend with Jason Statham and producer Hiram Garcia posting pictures on social media. Statham posted a shot of him and Dwayne Johnson with a helicopter right over their heads, teasing that they received two haircuts for the price of one. Garcia went with a Hawaiian sunset, which was probably the most mellow image that we have seen from the production. Never one to be quiet on social media about a project, Dwayne Johnson also made several posts about the Fast and Furious spin-off after production wrapped.

Hobbs & Shaw has been promised as the most explosive movie in the Fast and Furious franchise to date by Dwayne Johnson numerous times over the past few weeks. And while the action star is almost always super excited to promote his projects, Hobbs & Shaw seems like a different thing entirely. It appears that Johnson and Statham had the time of their lives making the movie, which only leaves us thinking that it won't be the last time that we see these two particular characters on the big screen together, teaming up to take down some new villains.

Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters on August 2nd and it will more than likely be a huge late summer popcorn movie. Fast and Furious fans are already excited about it, but it's beginning to look like non-fans of the franchise are starting to show some interest for this spin-off too. Jason Statham had a global hit with last summer's The Meg, and he might be about to replicate that success and perhaps even eclipse it. While we wait for the Hobbs & Shaw trailer to debut on Friday, February 1st, you can check out the first teaser below, thanks to Dwayne Johnson's Twitter account.
