The Sanderson sisters will be coming to Disney+ slightly earlier than expected as the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 has been set for September 2022. Having been expected to arrive in time for Halloween, Disney’s Upfront event saw new footage from the show being revealed to those in attendance and announced that the film will be available on the platform from September 30. One of the highly anticipated original sequels coming to Disney+ this year, Hocus Pocus 2 sees the return of stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who will again wreak havoc on the residents of Salem around Halloween.

It has taken three decades for the Sanderson sisters to make their return to the world in a sequel that many fans have wanted since Hocus Pocus hit cinemas and became a massive success in the early 1990s. After a lot of speculation and rumors over the last couple of years, the movie set cameras rolling last year in Rhode Island, where a whole village was purpose-built to bring the witches' original home to life. Since then, we have been teased with many set videos and images of the return of the original actresses to the franchise, and it looks like it won’t be too long until we finally get an official trailer and a first good look at the Sanderson back in action.

Hocus Pocus is one of those movies that has managed to transcend generations with its popularity, and the sequel will no doubt capture the imagination of those wanting to get a nostalgic hit having grown up in the 90s as well as a whole new generation of children yet to experience the spooky fun of the franchise.
