Channel Kevin McCallister this holiday season by picking up the Home Alone x Adidas Forum Lo sneakers. Official images of the shoes have been released and fans will have a chance to pick them up early before they arrive on store shelves by downloading the Adidas Confirmed app. It will be available on the first of December through an early draw through Confirmed for $110, followed by a global release on Dec. 11.

The sneakers are modeled after the ones worn by Macaulay Culkin’s trap-setting character in Home Alone, complete with the velcro strap along with the three red stripes on the side. They’re red and white in color with a miniature Home Alone house on the left shoe as a nod to the movie. They are also made to look as if they’ve been through some of the events of Home Alone, including burn marks in various spots and a glow-in-the-dark heel loop that references the heated doorknob.

A further look into these kicks reveal more references to the movie. Behind the signature strap is the Kevin McCallistor quote, “This is my house, I have to defend it.” Different graphic insoles are also included, including a look at Kevin’s “Battle Plan,” and other insoles featuring Harry and Marv suffering some of the effects of the young boy’s booby traps. The shoes are topped off with co-branded chenille tongue tags inspired by the rugs in Home Alone.

Home Alone

Released in 1990, Home Alone is considered to be one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. Directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, it stars Macaulay Culkin as a young boy named Kevin who’s inadvertently left home alone and must defend his home from the Wet Bendits (Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern) looking to break inside. To stop them, Kevin sets booby traps up all over the home with very painful results for the burglars. The movie was a tremendous hit with critics and at the box office, spawning several sequels.

This news also follows the release of Home Sweet Home Alone, a reboot of the franchise that’s partially a legacy sequel to the original. While Culkin does not return, another character from the original returns and references Kevin, confirming it to be in the same story. The new movie, released on Disney+, stars Archie Yates, Rob Delaney, and Ellie Kemper with a similar storyline to that of the original - burglars attempt to rob a home with a young boy home alone, only to be foiled by his many booby traps.

There were rumors that Macaulay Culkin would return for the Home Alone reboot, but that turned out not to be the case. Ahead of its release, Culkin tweeted, "Just a heads up since I've been getting this question a lot today: I am NOT in the new Home Alone reboot. I wish all involved the best of luck though.”

The Home Alone x Adidas Forum Lo sneakers can be purchased early with the Adidas Confirmed app starting on Dec. 1 for those who enter a draw and win. A global rollout will follow for everyone else on Dec. 11. Find out more about the shoes on the Confirmed app.
