In less than two seasons, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder has become one of the biggest hits on TV, as a regular part of the network's Thursday night lineup known as "Shondaland," since all of the shows in that block are created by Shonda Rhimes. While How to Get Away With Murder is the newcomer on the block, airing at 10 PM after Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, the show has certainly won over fans in a short amount of time. Much like its predecessors, How to Get Away with Murder has no shortage of steamy moments, but as series star Viola Davis revealed on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, these sex scenes aren't always what they're cracked up to be.

Before Viola Davis' appearance, the late night talk show welcomed her co-star Billy Brown, whose character Nate Leahy has been locked in a torrid affair with Viola Davis' Annalise Keating. During that episode, the actor teased that Viola Davis actually got hurt during one of their sex scenes, so, naturally, Jimmy Kimmel asked for her side of the story. Here's what she had to say about how she got hurt during the sex scene in question.

"Well, we really went for it. I said, 'Listen, I'm always playing these maids, I always gotta gain 40 pounds for a role.' I said, 'I wanna be sexy. I'm pulling out all the stops.' So, I went for it... and threw my back out. The director said 'Slam her up against the wall and really go for it, pull your pants down.' I said, 'OK, I'm gonna go for it.' He slams me up against the wall, six people are behind the wall, holding it up, it's shaking. It sounds sexy, it really wasn't."

It isn't known when this injury actually occurred, or if this scene has actually aired on the show yet. Fans were introduced to Nate during the first season, when one of Annalise's students walked in on them just before they were about to have sex in her office. At the time, both Annalise and Nate were married to other people, although Annalise's husband, who was also cheating on her, was killed later on in the first season. We'll have to wait and see what the rest of this season holds for Annalise and Nate's steamy affair.

How to Get Away with Murder was recently renewed for its third season on ABC, which will most likely debut this fall. While it's possible that the show could be held until midseason, since the network renewed 15 shows in total earlier this month, it has such a strong foothold in the Thursday night lineup, it seems safe to assume that it will return for the third season this fall.
