Howard Stern is going back to school, but not via the way of Rodney Dangerfield. According to Variety Stern will produce a remake of the 1979 film, Rock 'N' Roll High School. Alex Winter, who starred alongside Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, has been hired to write the remake.

The original film revolved around an musically-oppressed high school who rebelled against their rock-and-roll-hating-principal, with the assistance of the punk band, The Ramones. Stern joined up with the remake because he was a fan of the original film.

Winter is primarily involved on the other side of the camera these days, although he still does act. He has directed a number of music videos and commercials and has created skits for Jimmy Kimmel Live and has directed episodes of Ben 10.

No production schedule was released for this remake.
