As he prepares for his role in the upcoming Marvel sequel The Wolverine, actor Hugh Jackman payed a visit to The Oprah Winfrey Show, which is currently shooting in Australia. Upon making his grand entrance, which had Hugh dropping in on the audience via a flying fox zip-wire, the action star flew head first into a lighting fixture, inuring his eye.

Even though Jackman didn't seem seriously hurt at the time of the incident, Oprah Winfrey, immediately concerned for the actor's safety, halted production to tend to her banged-up guest. Hugh suffered a major gash just below his right eye, and needed six paramedics to remove him from the scene.

After a short break, Jackman, ever the trooper, returned to the stage with a Band-Aid on his face and a bruise visibly swelling on his cheek. He claimed that the overwhelming response from the audience caused him to lose his concentration and hit the brake on his flying fox a second too late, "That was so much fun until the end. I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing."

Jackman told the audience that he had suffered worse in his career as an actor, and then went onto school Oprah in the ways of Vegemite. You can watch the injury in the video below:
