It recently had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in the United States, receiving overwhelmingly favorable reviews from the masses and critics. Flamin' Hot: The Plot & True Story

Richard Montanez was born into a poor Mexican American family in California and brought up in a migrant labor camp alongside his ten siblings. Despite having a difficult upbringing, his challenges only strengthened him, and when he was 18, he dropped out of school and found a job as a janitor at Frito-Lay.

Little did he know this turn of events in his life would change everything. After discovering an issue with a Cheetos machine, Montanez would take unflavored snacks home and experiment with various spices to produce a magical recipe.

Soon after, he succeeded in creating the perfect Cheetos that would make snack lovers go crazy. Despite having difficulty convincing executives of his creation, Montanez would quickly become a crucial person in the company, eventually leading him to become an influential author and businessman.

The film would trace the circumstances that led to him creating Flamin' Hot Cheetos, which most people are addicted to eating. Given that the film's plot cannot include his entire life, Hulu decided to put it as follows:

"Flamin' Hot is the story of Richard Montañez, the Frito Lay janitor who channeled his Mexican American heritage and upbringing to turn Flamin' Hot Cheetos into a snack that disrupted the food industry and became a global phenomenon."

Flamin' Hot is directed by Eva Longoria, a skilled actress and talented filmmaker, who previously directed films and television programs such as LA to Vegas, Black-ish, and Why Women Kill. In an interview with People, Eva Longoria explained the intent behind making this biography. She stated,

"We were never told the history of the Cheeto. That would not be a very interesting movie. I'm doing the story of Richard Montañez, who happened to have a hand in creating the No. 1 snack in the world, which is a billion-dollar brand. Nobody knew this market better than Richard. He's more known as the godfather of Hispanic marketing than the creator of Flamin' Hot Cheetos because he was the first person to go, 'You guys, we need to market differently to different cultures, to Hispanics, to African-Americans, Asian-American. Everybody appeals differently to different things. And this is what my community likes. And all I know is that my community is not being spoken to. So you guys should speak to them, and they'll show up.' And he was right."

The script is written by Linda Yvette Chavez, who is renowned for her previous works Gentefied, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, and The Loud House, while the screenplay is handled by Lewis Colick, who is best known for October Sky, Charlie St. Cloud, and Ladder 49.

Marcelo Zarvos, who has previously composed music for Wonder, Ray Donovan, and Fences, is currently working on Flamin' Hot. DeVon Franklin is the film's producer, with David Kern and Samuel Rodriguez serving as executive producers.
