We haven't heard much about The Huntsman: Winter's War since it went into production earlier this year. But today, we get the first character posters from Universal Pictures. They not only reveal the new title for this standalone Huntsman adventure, which is a sequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman, but they also give us our first look at returning actors Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron. We also get to see new characters played by Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.

Chris Hemsworth is reprising his title role as The Huntsman Eric in this thrilling fantasy, and he comes armed with his signature axes in these character one-sheets. Charlize Theron is once again playing the beautiful yet evil Queen Ravenna. She is seen showing off a bit of sexy cleavage while she clings to her crow, decked out in a gold crown and jewelry. Jessica Chastain is The Warrior, wearing black leather and brandishing two very unique weapons that look to be fashioned out of a pair of antlers. And Emily Blunt rounds out the main cast as The Ice Queen, and she appears to be giving Frozen's Elsa a run for her money.

The first trailer for The Huntsman: Winter's War is expected to arrive in theaters this Friday with the debut of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. It will offer the first footage we've seen from this sequel. The story will further expand the legacy left behind in Snow White and the Huntsman. It will be revealed that Eric and Ravenna's destinies are deeply and dangerously intertwined.

Long before the evil Queen Ravenna was thought vanquished by Snow White's blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya, suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya's ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen, including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain). Only now she has found that her prized two have defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.

When Freya learns of her sister's demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it's ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable...unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen's cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan makes his directorial debut with The Huntsman: Winter's War. But it's not the first time he's wondered through these woods. The man served as the VFX supervisor for Snow White and the Huntsman. And the film is in the hands of producer Joe Roth, who is responsible for Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland. Check out these first look posters. And then be sure to check in later this week when the trailer makes it's debut
