Dan Simmon's award-winning science fiction book Hyperion Cantos has been sold to Warner Bros. for a big screen adaptation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be produced by Graham King, the man responsible for bringing the property to the studio.
Trevor Sands will adapt the first two books in the series into one screenplay. The story revolves around a space war with most of the action taking place on the planet Hyperion. Electricity-spewing trees, Time Tombs, and large artifacts that can move through time are all part of the fun.
The film will most likely go into production sometime next year.
