A reader over at AICN recently wrote into the site claiming that a bulletin posted by New York City's Mayor's Office is soon to be looking at a May 5th start date for long-awaited adaptation Richard Matheson's vampire novel, "I Am Legend."

Just thought you should be aware - on the "Reel Jobs" section on the Mayor's office website of New York City, they've listed the Richard Matheson adaptation "I Am Legend" in need of a scout staff, aiming for a May 5th start date of actual *shooting*.

"I Am Legend" is a 1954 science fiction novel by Richard Matheson about a pandemic of a bacterium that causes vampirism. The hero is the last surviving unaffected human, living in a house fortified against nocturnal attacks by the infected, and sallying forth by daylight to kill the vampires besieging him.
