According to The Hollywood Reporter, The sci-fi actioner I, Robot, starring Will Smith, sold 2.6 million combined DVD and VHS units Tuesday, its first day on store shelves, according to executives at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. That figure slightly eclipses first-day sales of Universal Studios Home Entertainment's actioner The Bourne Supremacy, starring Matt Damon, which sold $2.5 million combined units during its first day in release Dec. 7, according to industry sources.

"Supremacy" was last week's top-selling and -renting title, generating an estimated $15.10 million in gross rental spending during its first week in release, according to Nielsen VideoScan and Video Store magazine, respectively. USHE's spy thriller sold 5 million combined DVD and VHS units during the same frame, according to USHE executives.
