Dimension Films has set a November 26 start date for Comeback, an inspirational sports drama that Ice Cube will star in and produce, according to Variety. Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst is in negotiations to direct.
The movie is based on a true story, and Cube will play a former high school football star who takes his niece under his wing as she becomes the first female quarterback in Pop Warner football history. The 11-year old QB, Jasmine Plummer, led her team to the Pop Warner tournament, and became the first female to play in the tournament's 56-year history. Her spunk and achievement helped the struggling Illinois town of Wallace to come together and claim some of its former glory.
The script was written by Nick Santora, and Doug Atchison (Akeelah and the Bee) is doing a rewrite. Santora is producing with Cube.
