In a story from Variety,Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have picked up Merman.

In the film a merman makes its way to land so that he can regain the love of his mermaid fiancee.

The film is a romantic comedy screenplay from Jennifer Abu Hollander. Jeff Moskowitz also contributed to the script's story.

Brian Grazer will be producing the film. This is his second trip into mermaid waters since he and Director Ron Howard made Splash.
