According to Variety, Imagine Entertainment is currently developing a TV version of Parenthood for NBC. A pilot was recently given the greenlight.

Jason Katims will be writing the pilot.

Parenthood will be an hourlong comedy-drama. It will have the tone of the movie but it will also have new characters. The show will also be made more modern.

Katims will be executive producing along with Imagine's Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.

Imagine TV is doing the show with Universal because thats who distributed the original film. 20th Century Fox is where Imagine TV has their deal.

Imagine tried a version of the Parenthood in 1990. The show lasted 12 episodes.

Ron Howard directed the theatrical version of Parenthood that starred Steve Martin, Mary Steenburgen, Dianne Wiest, Tom Hulce, Rick Moranis, Jason Robards, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves and Joaquin Phoenix.
