Last March, Disney announced that the long-awaited animated sequel The Incredibles 2 is finally happening, with filmmaker Brad Bird returning to write the script and direct. We know that he is already working on the script, but many have wondered if this animated sequel will be his next project, after his new Disney adventure Tomorrowland hits theaters later this month. While promoting that movie, the filmmaker confirmed that The Incredibles 2 is on deck for him.

"Yeah it feels like it to me, yeah."

Disney Pixar has yet to announce a release date or when production may begin, but the director revealed that he plans on using ideas he didn't have a chance to implement in the first movie.

"Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original The Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in The Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I'm just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with The Incredibles sandbox again."

Released in 2004, The Incredibles is hilarious action-packed animated adventure about superheroes. Bob Parr used to be one of the world's greatest superheroes (known to all as "Mr. Incredible"), saving lives and fighting evil on a daily basis. Fifteen years later, Bob and his wife (a famous superhero in her own right) have adopted civilian identities and retreated to the suburbs to live normal lives with their three kids. Now he's a clock-punching insurance claims adjuster fighting boredom and a bulging waistline. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment.
