The cast and crew of Independence Day 2 participated in a live stream Q&A session today from the set of the sequel, where director Roland Emmerich revealed the official title, Independence Day: Resurgence. Production has been under way for the past few weeks in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the filmmakers and cast members appeared before a crowded room full of journalists. A new vehicle called the Moon Tug was also revealed, along with an alien hybrid jet, which you can see in a number of photos taken from the set.

After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction in Independence Day: Resurgence.

Cast members Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Angelababy, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward and Jessie Usher were all present for the Independence Day 2 Q&A, along with director Roland Emmerich, which, in case you missed it live, you can check out in the video below (skip to the 57:24 mark for the start of the live feed). You can also take a look at some of the photos from the set that were tweeted out by the cast, director Roland Emmerich, producer Harald Kloser and more.
