Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan has revealed that he still receives Christmas gifts every year from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom director and filmmaking icon Steven Spielberg. Speaking with The Guardian, Ke Huy Quan, who recently returned to acting following a hiatus of 20 years, heaped praise on the director and his kind, genuine nature.

“He gave me my first job and, so many years later, he has not forgotten me. Every time I needed help, he’s always there.”

Aside from starring as Short Round in the Indiana Jones installment, Ke Huy Quan is known for playing Richard "Data" Wang in the treasured 80s adventure, The Goonies. “On Indiana Jones, I was the only kid, so I got all of the love and attention,” Quan said of his experience making the Richard Donner movie. “On The Goonies, I was one of seven, so I was constantly fighting for attention. But it was something that was very familiar to me – my parents had nine kids. It was a lot of fun, especially those amazing sets. Going to work was like going to the playground.”

Quan went on to reveal that he still keeps in contact with his fellow Goonies, with former actor Jeff Cohen who played Chunk in the movie now Quan’s lawyer. Quan even revealed that they still sometimes get together saying, “even though we don’t see each other often, it’s like family, because we’re truly brothers forever.” No doubt, this will have many wondering about the long-rumored Goonies 2...

Since returning to the big screen in the superb Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ke Huy Quan has reunited with his Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom co-star Harrison Ford while appearing at this year’s D23. "We're in this green room with so many actors, producers, and directors, and the person who was assigned to assist me said, 'Harrison Ford is right outside the green room. Would you want to go say hi?' I'm thinking, 'Of course! I haven't seen him in 38 years,'” the actor explained. “So I walk out and I see him about 15 feet away talking to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, they're there to promote Indy 5. And as I walk close, my heart is pounding. I'm thinking, 'Is he gonna recognize me? The last time he saw me, I was a little kid.'"

Of course, Ford did recognize him, and it led to one of the most heart-warming images you’ll see in a long time. "As I get closer, he turns and points his finger at me, and he has that classic, famous, grumpy Harrison Ford look,” Ke Huy Quan continued. “I go, 'Oh my gosh, he probably thinks I'm a fan and he's gonna tell me not to come near him.' But he looks and points at me and says, 'Are you Short Round?' Immediately, I was transported back to 1984, when I was a little kid, and I said, 'Yes, Indy.' And he said, 'Come here,' and gave me a big hug. When I wrapped my arms around him, all those wonderful memories I had on the set came flooding back. It felt so comfortable. It was amazing, and he's an amazing man - one of the most generous men on the planet."

Ke Huy Quan’s comeback is all set to continue over the next few years, with the actor now cast in The Electric State from The Russo Brothers. Quan will also join the MCU as a TVA employee in Loki Season 2 from Marvel Studios.
