Seriously, where is Hawkeye in Infinity War? Marvel has finally unveiled the full-length trailer for the unprecedented event and virtually every character we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date is in there and everyone has a job to do. That is, except for Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye. Not only is he not featured in the new trailer, but he's also been left off of the new Infinity War poster as well. Considering that he's been a core member of The Avengers from the beginning, this raises questions and would seem to be quite the bummer for Renner. Understandably so.
The first teaser for Avengers: Infinity War didn't feature Hawkeye either. Though, that was just a teaser trailer and there are a lot of characters to handle in this movie. So it was understandable to think that maybe he was going to be featured in this new trailer. But nope. So what does this mean? Does Jeremy Renner even have a role in the movie anymore? If so, where is he? Why isn't he doing battle in Wakanda with the rest of his fellow Earth-bound Avengers? If he could fight Ultron with a bow and arrow, one has to imagine he could do some good against Thanos' forces. Black Widow is there as well and she, like Hawkeye, doesn't necessarily have any powers.
Recently, Entertainment Weekly debuted a series of 15 different covers for Avengers: Infinity War. Everyone from Iron Man to Black Panther's sister Shuri was featured. But Hawkeye was again nowhere to be found. Considering his snub in this new trailer and poster, it makes a post Renner made to his Instagram account a few days ago a bit more sad. He shared some fan art of himself photoshopped on an EW cover, which feels like something that should exist but doesn't.

It was always a guarantee that not every character was going to get a ton of screen time in Avengers: Infinity war. There are simply too many heroes here to have everyone be a main character. But not having Hawkeye in there at all is a pretty significant omission. Not only that, but Hawkeye also largely got the shaft in The Avengers, as he was turned evil by Loki in the first five minutes of the movie and didn't get right until just ahead of the main battle in New York. Even though Ant-Man is missing, Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out just a few months after Avengers 3 and it's said that movie will deeply connect to Infinity War. So he's still going to have his day in the sun. It doesn't feel as weird as not having Hawkeye there.
Granted, much of what we're going to see in Avengers: Infinity War won't be revealed until the movie arrives on April 27. So maybe Hawkeye isn't there for a good reason. What's particularly strange is that he's been confirmed for Avengers 4, so it's really tough to tell what's going on. But if Jeremy Renner is feeling a little left out of the party right now, nobody would blame him. You can check out Jeremy Renner's Instagram post for yourself below.
