It seems that maverick director Quentin Tarantino may have found a home for his new film project. According to Variety, Tarantino is very close to finalizing a deal with Universal Pictures for his new film, Inglorious Bastards.

The Weinstein Co. will also produce the film and is part of the impending deal with Universal. There are still details to be worked out, but insiders say the deal will happen. Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein had met with five studios and the choice was down to Paramount and Universal.

Tarantino has already gotten started with casting possibilities, meeting with Brad Pitt for the role of Aldo Raine, although it's still in very early negotiations.

Production is slated to begin this coming fall, with shooting to commence in Germany and France.
