With Vin Diesel's new action-thriller The Last Witch Hunter opening in theaters this weekend, the actor has been making the press rounds as of late, where he continues to tease his potential involvement in Marvel's Inhumans. The actor hasn't officially signed on yet, but he did tease how he might play the comic book character Black Bolt in an interview from last week. The actor recently appeared on MTV's podcast Happy Sad Confused, where he was asked if Inhumans was an "'if it happens, it happens' type of deal," i.e. a project that he isn't quite sure about yet. The actor revealed that Marvel has to "woo" him with a "dope script" and a great director to get him to sign on.

"I don't do too much 'if it happens. Do you know what I mean?'... I don't do too much 'if it happens,' it's more at what level it will happen... it's not a matter of me wooing Marvel, it's a matter of Marvel wooing me. And I love them, but I'm just saying, show me a dope script and show me a great director, all of which I know that Kevin (Feige) is capable of, because he dazzled me when he suggested Groot. That was, like, profound to me. I thought [Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy] was genius. I'm not doing anything just for work. I'm doing things that I can feel passionate about, and that I feel like I can contribute to."

At this time, Inhumans doesn't have any director, "dope" or otherwise, attached to the project. Screenwriter Joe Robert Cole, a product of the Marvel writers program along with Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel), wrote an early draft of the script, but it is believed the studio is looking for a new writer. The studio recently brought Joe Robert Cole on board to write another one of Marvel's Phase Three adventures, Black Panther.

Marvel's Inhumans has been set for release on July 12, 2019, the last movie slated for Phase Three, coming just two months after Avengers: Infinity War - Part II. No story details have been revealed as of yet, but the studio has already started setting up the Inhumans story on the ABC TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was revealed last season that Skye (Chloe Bennet) is actually an Inhuman named Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake. It still isn't known how the TV show's Inhumans will tie into the movie version at this time, but we still have just under four years until the movie hits theaters.

Vin Diesel first teased his potential Inhumans role as Black Bolt several years ago, again hinting at it earlier this month, when he mentioned playing a character that would not require his voice. In the Marvel Comics, Black Bolt (a.k.a. Blackagar Boltagon) is the leader of the Inhumans, a character who has a voice that can emit destructive power, which leads him to remain silent for most of the time. What do you think about the possibility of Vin Diesel portraying Black Bolt in Marvel's Inhumans?
