CBS Films announced today that they have secured the rights to Marc Maurino's original screenplay, Inside the Machine. ContraFilm brought the script to CBS, which pre-emptively purchased the rights. ContraFilm principals Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson (Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) are attached to produce.

Inside the Machine follows an undercover ATF agent's journey into the heart of the Murder Machine - a vicious cartel ruled by a criminal mastermind. As the strain on his family mounts and he finds himself increasingly seduced by the power and violence of his undercover persona, the agent must determine how far he will go to serve justice.

"Inside the Machine is about a man struggling to keep his undercover persona from destroying his personal life," observed Vinson. "Marc Maurino has written a script that is committed to being authentic. It's that realism and attention to detail that has us very excited to be involved with Inside the Machine."

Vice President of Production Mark Ross and Creative Executive Ryan Conroy are overseeing the project for CBS Films. Marc Maurino is represented by UTA and managed by Circle of Confusion. Attorney Adam Kaller of Hansen Jacobson represents Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson. Creative Executive Alex Church brought the project to ContraFilm.
