Elyes Gabel, who plays Rakharo on HBO's Game of Thrones, has joined the growing cast of Interstellar for Warner Bros. and director Christopher Nolan. No character details were released at this time.

The story follows a group of explorers who travel through a wormhole to explore new dimensions of space and time. The plot is based on the scientific theories of Kip S. Thorne, who believes that wormholes actually do exist and can be used to travel through time. Elyes Gabel joins a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, and John Lithgow.

Christopher Nolan is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother Jonathan Nolan, who had a hand in writing the filmmaker's Batman trilogy that wrapped up last year with The Dark Knight Rises. The director is also producing alongside Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst.

Aside from his role on Game of Thrones, Elyes Gabel recently starred in World War Z and Welcome to the Punch earlier this year, and had an arc on the ABC drama series Body of Proof.
