Director Rob Marshall, known for his Best Picture winner Chicago, returns to the musical genre this Christmas with Disney's Into the Woods. Based on the Stephen Sondheim Broadway production of the same name, this fairy tale will obviously feature numerous musical numbers, one of which being "On the Steps of the Palace," sung by Anna Kendrick's Cinderella. Disney has released the full song for fans to check out, before the official soundtrack debuts on December 15.

"Into the Woods" is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel-all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them. Part of Cinderella's story involves her affections for the Prince (Chris Pine), which is showcased in this song.

Anna Kendrick is no stranger to the musical genre, with her hit single "Cups" from Pitch Perfect going platinum and landing the #6 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim himself, "On the Steps of the Palace" shows how Cinderella's puts her true feelings for the Prince to music. If that wasn't enough, we also have a new clip where Anna Kendrick is singing "On the Steps of the Palace," which you can check out along with the full song.
