We have a brand new trailer for Iron Sky: The Coming Race, which is sure to be the craziest movie coming our way in 2019. Yes, even when taking into account that an R-rated horror movie centered on The Banana Splits is also being released this summer. This serves as a sequel to the cult hit Iron Sky, which was first released back in 2012. The creative team has made us wait a long time for the follow-up, but those who are interested are going to be rewarded with some remarkable madness when the movie finally arrives in July.

The trailer kicks off with a pretty impressive action sequence, before diving into a recap of the events that brought us to where we are today. Life on Earth as we know it came to an end, thanks to those damned Moon Nazis and the nuclear war they started. So, some humans have made their way to the dark side of the moon. But things get ugly when a Nazi T-rex rains on their parade, putting the events of the sequel in motion. Oh, and Tom Green, yes Freddy Got Fingered star and early 2000's shock comic Tom Green, shows up! And yes, a lady dropkicks a dinosaur in the face. Big movies (or at least movies that look big) simply don't get this crazy all that often.

This is far from the first trailer we've seen for the anticipated B-movie sequel, but it's nonetheless an excellent showcase of the absolutely insane action coming our way. It also serves as a reminder that, despite budget constraints, the filmmakers have actually managed to craft a visually impressive (relatively speaking) spectacle. It's Michael Bay-esque results on a shoestring budget. Seriously. Regardless of the overall quality, it's hard not to be a little impressed by what's being accomplished visually for the money.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race takes place in the aftermath of a devastating nuclear war that leaves Earth uninhabitable. The remnants of the human race are forced to take refuge in a former Nazi Moonbase. With supplies dwindling and overpopulation becoming an issue, the survivors are hanging on by a thread. However Obi, the leader's daughter, discovers a map that leads to a power hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface that could possibly save mankind, or totally destroy it. An old enemy leads a group of heroes on a quest into the Hollow Earth where the must battle an ancient race of shapeshifting reptiles in order to save humanity.

The movie has been screened previously, but we now finally have word that it will be released wide in select theaters and On Demand on July 19. Mark your calendars accordingly. Timo Vuorensola returns to the director's chair for the sequel, working from a script he co-wrote with Dalan Musson. The cast includes Lara Rossi, Vladimir Burlakov, Kit Dale and Udo Kier.
