Director Bryan Singer has not been shy about revealing cast members for his upcoming superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the filmmaker did clam up, to an extent, when recently asked if the villain Apocalypse is making an appearance.

"I can't tell you..."

Appearing nervous under pressure, the director refused to answer any more questions about Apocalypse. When asked if Apocalypse will be rendered through motion-capture techniques, he gave this response.

"This is how it gets started, when somebody starts piecing the little bits together..."

Apocalypse is said to be the first mutant in history, born over 5,000 years ago on the planet Akkaba. He was abandoned at birth due to his irregular appearance of gray skin and blue lips. He shows up throughout several periods in history, with ancient civilizations worshiping him as a God. In the Marvel comic books, he battled the X-Men on several occasions, including the Age of the Apocalypse arc that featured time travel and alternate histories.

Some have speculated that Apocalypse may be the character Peter Dinklage is portraying, since the actor never confirmed his role after signing on last month. With production starting very soon in Montreal, more details are sure to be released regarding both the story and the villain of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
