Since Batman kicked off Bruce Wayne's life as a modern day superhero franchise in 1989, many popular actresses have stepped into play opposite The Dark Knight, bringing various different DC Comics love interests to the big screen for the first time. Man of Steel 2 will likely be no different, as Warner Bros. has reportedly set out to find the perfect match for Ben Affleck in this highly anticipated Batman Vs. Superman sequel.

Latino Review has the news this morning, hoping to put to rest any rumors that this version of Bruce Wayne will be out to steal Amy Adams's Lois Lane away from mild mannered Clark Kent (Henry Cavill). According to their sources, Bruce will be in a long-term commited relationship when we first meet him.

A casting breaking down for the part is rumored to be making the rounds around various talent agencies this week. Warner Bros. is seeking a woman in her late 20s, with the studio open to casting all ethnicities. The part requires the actress to be tall and physically capable of going toe-to-toe with The Dark Knight.

Its not yet known who may be auditioning for the role, as the actresses themselves do not know they are auditioning as Batman's girlfriend. That will only be revealed once they have been given the part.

Speculation about who Batman's girlfriend may be is running rampant this morning. So far we've heard Vicki Vale, Julie Madison, and our favorite, Wonder Woman. In the 1989 Batman, Kim Basinger played Vicki Vale. Michelle Pfeiffer played Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) in the 1992 sequel. Nicole Kidman was Dr. Chase Meridian in 1995's Batman Forever, while supermodel Elle Macpherson played Julie Madison in 1997's Batman & Robin. Things got a little more serious when Christopher Nolan took over the franchise in 2005 with Batman Begins. Katie Holmes played love interest Rachel Dawes, and was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal in the 2008 sequel The Dark Knight. Marion Cotillard was the love interest of sorts in the very last film, The Dark Knight Rises, playing Miranda Tate, a woman with a dark secret. The one thing all of these actresses have in common is that they are all tall women, and could stand their ground opposite Ben Affleck.

Who do you think should be Batman's girlfriend? And which actress do you want to see play her?
