There is not much information to go on at this time, but scoop hounds Latino Review are back with a new rumor that suggests Disney and LucasFilm have handed over a very specific Star Wars property to Pixar for a full-length animated feature.

What that project could be is anybody's guess. The move for Pixar to pick up and run with a Star Wars themed project is not a new idea or rumor, and in /no-star-wars-pixar-movie-is-being-planned-reveals-john-lasseter/August of last year, Pixar chairman John Lasseter claimed that no such thing was happening.

"That [movie] stays under the leadership of LucasFilm. [Is there potential for a Pixar Star Wars movie?] Not really, other than Pixar has always used Skywalker Sound for all of our productions. They're the best so we'll always continue using them and we're very good friends. And we always have been with [special effects house Industrial Light and Magic] as well. But other than being friends we have never needed to do anything with them. But we're also massive Star Wars fans so we're all very excited, as is everybody around the world, for new Star Wars films. I don't know anything about it other than just being a fan."

Neither Disney, Pixar nor LucasFilm have responded to this new claim that a Pixar Star Wars film is on the horizon. It does make sense that it could happen. The two are a good match.

It is not known how big the scope of the film could be, or what type of genre it will slide into. Perhaps it's a comedy about the subculture of Jawas. Maybe it's a realistic take on Droid life. Or perhaps they'll take the Cars approach, utilizing the vast space vehicles at their disposal. The most popular theory is that the Untitled Star Wars Han Solo Spin-Off becomes a Pixar movie, with Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew returning to do the voice work. That has the potential to please fans, and works in Mayhew's favor, as he is no longer able to perform in the Chewbacca costume.

While we await any official confirmation, what do you want to see in a Star Wars Pixar movie?
