With the immense popularity of Heroes, is it at all likely that we could ever see one of the stars from the show appear in another superhero franchise? Probably not, but that didn't stop Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Peter Petrelli on the show, from telling Showbiz Spy that he would love to play Robin in a future Batman flick.

Ventimiglia says:

I always thought I would make a great Robin.

I would love to be Christian Bale's sidekick in Batman. Even when I was younger I never wanted to be Batman.

I have always wanted to be Robin. To this day I still think that would be pretty cool.

Of course, this is just Ventimiglia discussing a fond idea, and should not be taken as any sort of casting announcement. Christopher Nolan, who directed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, still hasn't committed to a third Batman movie, and certainly hasn't discussed which supervillains, or sidekick superheroes, might be appearing in the film. Moreover, Ventimiglia is almost certainly too old to be reasonably accepted as Christian Bale's teen sidekick. And Bale himself has jokingly said that he would need to be dragged in to work if they wanted to add Robin to the films.

So, while we may not see Ventimiglia in the red and green tights of the Boy Wonder anytime soon, we can at least see him as Peter Petrelli when Heroes returns to NBC on September 22.
