Bleeding Cool has an intensive breakdown of the new Fox series Gotham and its /tv/gotham/Pilot episode. Included are screencaps, and its being speculated that one of these images is actually our first look at Gotham's Joker. The character is described as a "rather nervous stand-up comedian" at a club owned by gangster Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), but it hasn't been confirmed if he will be in any more episodes beyond the pilot.
Take a look at the images, which also feature James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), Edward Nygma/The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Taylor), Gotham P.D. Major Crimes cops Renee Montoya (Victoria Cartagena) and Crispus Allen (Andrew Stewart-Jones), and this unnamed comedian played by Jon Beavers, then read on for more details.
Bleeding Cool's extensive report doesn't confirm that this comedian is The Joker, but this isn't the first time we've heard about the iconic villain showing up on Gotham. Series creator Bruno Heller confirmed in May that The Joker will be introduced in the series at some point, although he didn't give a timetable as to when he will appear, stating that the character will be brought in with "great care and a lot of thought."
If this character is The Joker, it would be quite a huge break for actor Jon Beavers, whose only other acting role is in the Nickelodeon series The Fresh Beat Band, where he plays Twist. Do you think Jon Beavers is The Joker? Chime in with your thoughts below.
We reported last week that Gotham will debut on Monday, September 22 at 8 PM on Fox, and for those going to Comic-Con in San Diego, you can watch the pilot episode on Saturday, July 26. CLICK HERE to read the full report on the pilot, but there may be spoilers.
