We last reported on a film called Paper Wings way back in 2006, when New Line Cinema wasn't folded into Warner Bros. and now it seems the film has a new studio home and could have two high-profile lead actors. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Tom Cruise and Reese Witherspoon are in talks to star in Paper Wings.

The film is now being set up at Sony and the film was said to revolve around a rodeo champion, which Cruise would play, who falls for a talented new country singer, which Witherspoon would play.

No writer or director has been attached to the project as of yet, but the site reveals that Will Smith would produce through his Overbrook Entertainment production company and director Gabriele Muccino, who directed Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds, is in early talks to direct, although it was said that other directors are in the mix as well.
