Actor and comedian J.B. Smoove has joined Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy The Dictator.

In the Paramount comedy, J.B. Smoove will play the role of "Usher" in the film, though little else is known about the character. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan helmer Larry Charles is directing.

The Dictator is the story of despot who "risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed," according to a Paramount press release. The film is said to be inspired by the novel "Zabibah" and "The King by Saddam Hussein."

Megan Fox and John C. Reilly will make a cameo appearance in the film, which also stars Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley and Jason Mantzoukas.

The film is currently in production in New York.
