Jack is on the run in the latest trailer for the upcoming third season of Jack Ryan. Actor John Krasinski returns as the unwavering hero in Season 3 of the Tom Clancy adaptation, with this newly released footage finding Jack left out in the cold after being accused of treason. Things are clearly not looking good for Jack, with the CIA agent doing what all spies, secret agents, and everything else in between have to do eventually: go rogue. The third season of the action-thriller series begins with Jack Ryan working as a CIA case officer in Rome when he is tipped off that the Sokol Project, a secret plan to restore the Soviet Empire, is being resurrected more than 50 years after it was thought to have been shut down. Jack embarks on a mission to confirm the intelligence, but things quickly go awry, and he is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy.

Accused of treason, with a Red Notice out for his arrest, Jack is forced to run from his own government if he has any hope of uncovering the rogue faction before it’s too late. Crisscrossing Europe as he is hunted by former allies and new enemies alike, Jack races against the clock to stop the cascade of destabilizing conflicts from leading to global catastrophe.

Falling somewhere in between Jason Bourne, James Bond, and Mission: Impossible, the third season of Jack Ryan certainly looks like the most action-packed outing for Krasinski’s hero so far as he exchanges gunfire, dodges explosions, and runs from the authorities in order to clear his name.

Jack Ryan first began in 2018 and finds The Office star John Krasinski playing against type as CIA analyst Jack Ryan. The first season finds Jack caught in the crossfire after stumbling upon a suspicious series of bank transfers. His search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.

Season 2 meanwhile finds the desk-loving action man heading to South America and uncovering a far-reaching conspiracy, leading Jack on a mission spanning the US, UK, Russia, and Venezuela to bring stability to a country on the brink of chaos. During its run, Jack Ryan has been met with a positive response from both critics and audiences alike and remains one of Prime Video’s most popular shows.

Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski in the title role, with Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly reprising their roles as CIA Officer James Greer and former CIA Officer Mike November, respectively. Joining the cast this season are Nina Hoss as Czech President Alena Kovac and Betty Gabriel as CIA Rome Station Chief Elizabeth Wright.

Jack Ryan Season 3 is scheduled for a Prime Video release later this month, on Dec. 21. The first two seasons are available to stream on Prime Video now. Jack Ryan has already been renewed for a fourth outing.
