Heat Vision Blog reports that director Bryan Singer is currently casting for his Jack the Giant Killer movie, and such names as Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Hoult and newcomer Aneurin Bernard are in contention to play the young farmer who leads a rescue mission to save a princess from the giants' land.

This news falls in line with a report from October, which indicated Aaron Johnson may be starring in the movie, although it isn't close to a done deal yet.

Actresses such as Lily Collins, Juno Temple and Adelaide Kane are being considered to play the princess. The actors are being asked to sign eight or nine-month hold deals, which is considered a lengthy amount of time for a movie, even for a production of this magnitude.

The site also reports that Jamie Campbell Bower was in contention for the Jack role, although insiders say he has a broken ankle and won't be able to test for the part. Production is scheduled to start on Jack the Giant Killer in March.
