Warner Bros. announced today that Jack the Giant Killer has changed its title to Jack the Giant Slayer. The studio also moved this medieval action-adventure from March 22, 2013 to March 1, 2013. It will now go up against Relativity Media's comedy 21 and Over and the Fox Searchlight drama Stoker.

Nicholas Hoult stars in Jack the Giant Killer as the title character, a young man who inadvertently breaks a longstanding truce between the humans and enormous giants. Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, Eddie Marsan, and newcomer Eleanor Tomlinson also star.

The movie was originally slated to debut this summer, until the studio announced in January it was being moved to March 22, 2013. We'll keep you posted if any other studios make changes to their release schedule, with a new opening in play.
