Director Bryan Singer announced at the RED User Forums that he will be using the RED EPIC 3D camera for his upcoming adventure Jack the Giant Killer. Here's what the director had to say:

"I'm very much looking forward to using the EPIC Red for my next movie Jack the Giant Killer which will be shot in, what else, 3D. The camera's incredibly compact size and extraordinary resolution are ideal for the 3D format.

But more importantly Jack the Giant Killer is my first movie set in a time before electricity. The EPIC's extraordinary exposure latitude will allow me to more effectively explore the use of natural light."

It will be interesting to see how Bryan Singer plans to use natural light in the movie. We reported back in May that Jack the Giant Killer will start production in February, after it was originally slated to start this past July.

Bryan Singer is directing from a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie, Darren Lemke and Mark Bomback.
