Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to Allen Zadoff's young adult novel Boy Nobody, which will serve as a starring vehicle for Jaden Smith.

The story centers on a teenage assassin (Jaden Smith) who was programmed not to feel any emotions. His life becomes more complicated when he finally starts to feel once again. The character is described as a teenage Jason Bourne. Sony beat out 20th Century Fox for the book rights, and although negotiations are currently under way, a deal has not been solidified yet.

No producers or screenwriters have been attached to the project yet, but it would come as no surprise if Jaden Smith's father, Will Smith, comes aboard through his Overbrook Entertainment banner.

No production schedule was given. The novel, which is the first in a planned trilogy, will be published next spring by Little, Brown.
