Jaime King (Sin City) has joined the ranks of Hollywood beauties to be attached to Will Eisner's The Spirit.

Her character has yet to be revealed, but IESB.net has confirmed with her publicist and manager that King has been cast in the film. Variety has also confirmed that Paz Vega will be appearing in the project.

Will Eisner's The Spirit is adapted from the classic graphic novels created by Will Eisner, and focuses on Denny Colt. Colt was a police detective who faked his own death and later became Central City's masked hero. The Spirit will face off against The Octopus, a sinister figure who kills anyone who sees his face. The Octopus' goals are simple - he wants to wipe Central City off the face of the planet.

While attempting to thwart The Octopus, the Spirit is forced to contend with numerous femme fatales, each with their own agenda; either to kill, seduce or fall in love with the Spirit. Jaime King joins Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes and Sarah Paulson in vying for the Spirit's affections. Also starring in the film are Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus, and Gabriel Macht in the title role.

Will Eisner's The Spirit is set for release on January 16, 2009.
