The Heartbreak Kid: According to Variety, "Da Ali G Show" writer and director James Bobin will make his feature helming debut on DreamWorks' The Heartbreak Kid.

He replaces Barry Sonnenfeld, who withdrew when the studio decided to make the film on a smaller budget.

The romantic comedy is a loosely inspired remake of the 1972 pic written by Neil Simon and directed by Elaine May.

The story concerns a man who hastily weds a local girl whom he thinks is perfect -- until he falls in love with another girl during the honeymoon.

The script was written by Scot Armstrong (Old School), with the most recent drafts by Armstrong and Leslie Dixon(Freaky Friday).
