Spider-Man: Far From Home is getting ready to hit theaters and Tom Holland already has his eyes on the next franchise. There have been rumors about everybody and their brother, or sister, taking over the James Bond franchise after Daniel Craig splits. Obviously Holland's name is going to come up because he has a pulse and he is one of the biggest actors on the planet at the moment. But, he really would like the opportunity at some point.

When asked if he was really taking over the James Bond franchise, Tom Holland joked and said, "It's all true, it's all true." He continued to play with the interviewers, declaring, "I'm so excited that they've cast me, it's really exciting." The young actor is used to the Hollywood rumor mill by this point in the game and he enjoys having a good time with some of the more outlandish rumors. Changing speeds, the actor then said, "I would love to play James Bond one day."

"It's funny, as a kid growing up, the two characters I've always wanted to play was either Spider-Man or James Bond. I'm honestly perfectly happy with just the one, I love this character (Spider-Man) more than anything, and I realize how lucky I am. But that said, I would also like to play James Bond (laughs)."

"I couldn't play James Bond now, though," continued the Spider-Man: Far From Home star. Daniel Craig is out after the upcoming Bond 25 and the world is on the hunt for the next person to take the job. While the 23-year old Tom Holland more than likely won't be doing it any time soon, he does have an idea for how the story could go. He had this to say.

"Basically the film was about a kid who goes to the SAS, joins MI6, and you never know that he's James Bond. And then at the end of the film, the tag is, after he's made two kills, M would say, 'Welcome to the 00 Program, Mr. Bond.' And then everyone goes, 'Wait a minute, is this a James Bond movie?' Yes it is."

This isn't the first time Tom Holland has thrown his name out there to take over the James Bond franchise. He did so back in 2017 when Spider-Man: Homecoming hit theaters. Sony makes those movies. I've told them to make it happen," said the young actor at the time. Holland could end up with the role at some point, which would make him a pretty lucky young actor.

For now, Tom Holland will have to settle with being just Peter Parker for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All kidding aside, Holland is clearly having an excellent time with his place in the world and he has a long career ahead of him, even after the Spider-Man fame winds down. As for who will be the next 007, that remains to be seen. You can watch the interview with Tom Holland below, thanks to the ExtraTV YouTube channel.
