I seem to be going through a James Cameron phase, renting/buying whatever milestone films I can find. To complete this insanity of watching the relatively short list of this filmmaker’s great career, I came across an obscure made-for-TV movie known as Piranha II: The Spawning, Cameron’s directorial debut. It amazes me how bad this movie is, showing almost no talent from one of our generation’s greatest artists. Even more shocking is the fact that a few months later, he went to direct The Terminator, followed by Aliens and The Abyss (the landmark film which paved the way for CGI!). Give it a look. Maybe we can get javascript:void(0|Mushy to give us his input one-a these days.

And now the news...

Check out an interview with Big Trouble director Barry Sonnenfeld from the set of Men in Black 2, regarding the re-teaming of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones and the stress involved in making a really big sequel.

Exit Wounds actress Eva Mendes is gonna take over Aaliyah’s remaining acting (20% of thespian work left for her character, Zee) on The Matrix: Reloaded and The Matrix 3. How is it gonna blend? Who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

In a last ditch effort to sell more tickets, Miramax and Entertainment Tonight have teamed up to stream one of the funniest scenes of the insanely clever “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”…The Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season scene. For those who’ve seen the flick, it’s great to relive the moment. For those who haven’t seen it, stop reading! Go see the movie *and then* click the link. Applesauce, bitch.

If anyone can find a copy of the ‘78 Cameron short Xenogenesis (see first paragraph for why I would want something like this, e-mail me. ~Steve
