According to Variety, James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) is going to serve as an executive producer on the French Canadian series Taxi 22 for HBO.

Gandolfini could potentially star in this show about "a politically incorrect cab driver in New York City."

Presently, the originally show (titled Taxi 0-22 there) plays on Quebec's TVA network, where it is in its fourth season. Canadian actor Patrick Huard stars in the role of Rogatien Dubois Jr.

Dave Flebotte is going to write the HBO version and is also executive producing. Gandolfini is presently developing an Ernest Hemingway project for the cable network.
