James Mangold is gearing up to direct a big screen adaptation of the Alexis Nolent graphic novel Cyclops. According to Variety, Warner Brothers has acquired the rights to the film, which will be produced by Alexandra Milchan.

The story centers on a group of mercenary soldiers that wear Cyclops-like cameras on their helmets and broadcast to both their central command center and to the population at large. One soldier comes to discover that he isn't fighting for freedom as much as he is fighting for commerce.

Mangold stated, "It is an electrifying package you find in the best sci-fi: great action sequences combined with themes that are eminently foreseeable." The film is something Paramount wants to move on quickly, as they are currently searching for screenplay writers for the project.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.
